Mister Mom - Santa Barbara shootings
Mr. Mom with David Marin Mister Mom - Santa Barbara shootings Date: 06/08/2014 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm
Another school shooting. Surprise. An Iowa Republican senate candidate, asked about the Santa Barbara massacre, says it's an "unfortunate accident," like a fallen tree laying across the road. Democrat Janet Napolitano, former Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security in the Obama administration and now the head of the University of California system, says, "impossible to prevent and impossible to predict." Well... First, we could prevent shootings if mental health professionals could place disturbed individuals in the national gun-buyer background check system. Second, sadly, school shootings are predictable. On Sunday, we'll talk about solutions, like gun restraining orders (already used in Connecticut and Texas), tracking ammo sales, no gun sales to individuals under 26 years old, psychiatric gun registry discretion, and limits on gun magazines. My guests will be NRA arch-rival/retired police chief/professor of criminal justice Dr. Robert Wadman, author of seven books on law enforcement, and California Assemblyman Das Williams (D-Santa Barbara). We'll discuss all of the above. Listen live on KSCO 1080 AM in Silicon Valley and the central coast, or live online with a computer or smartphone at www.ksco.com. Listeners are welcome to share your thoughts: 831-479-1080.
